Mauefall | AI | Stylegan

For the 30th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, I developed 3 Video Art installation pieces together with Monomango Studio and Jens Wischnewsky.

The Project was created using StyleGAN. The model was trained on a dataset of 50K + images.
Furthermore you can read more about the machine-learning model here -> StyleGAN Paper

The opening of Juergen Teller’s exhibition “Heimweh” at our new Tokyo gallery coincides with the installation “Post Wall Identity” on the facade of MCM Ginzahaus where KÖNIG TOKIO is located on the 6th floor. The installation was developed by Lois Kainhuber & www collective and is on view until end of November! @loiskainhuber @www__site ———————————————————- POST WALL IDENTITY by Lois Kainhuber & www collective Installation on the facade of MCM Ginza Haus I • On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall we are dealing with the all-German identity, which is based on the success of the Peaceful Revolution and the reunification of East and West. But what does this identity look like? What stayed? What went? What was? What will be? In Post Wall Identity, Lois Kainhuber puts these questions to an artificial intelligence and thus brings into play a component that, 30 years later, additionally questions human identity on a completely new level. “What happens to our identity when humankind has developed the last machine it ever had to develop? The one which can evolve independently of humans themselves. If the development of our future is partly or completely out of our control?” (Inspired by John Irving’s Intelligence Explosion thesis, 1965). • • Lois Kainhuber @lois_kainhuber developed the Installation´s GAN Illusions in collaboration with Visual Artist Gero Doll @_limbicnation_ . Computer Scientist Jens Wischnewsky @cyremur supported on the technical realization. Olivier Fröhlich provided generative sound scapes. Nino Matthey and Julia Parchimowicz @itsbadjuju took care of the graphic design. ———————————————————— #falloftheBerlinwall #9thNovember #30thanniversary #PostWallIdentity #LoisKainhuber #wwwcollective #königgalerie
